Concentrations and Certificates in Finance

The Bachelor of Business Administration in with concentrations in Corporate Finance and Investments provides students with fundamental financial management tools and core knowledge in business.  Students develop analytical skills as well as problem-solving abilities by taking courses in business finance, investments, international finance, advanced financial management, as well as money, banking, and financial markets.

 

Why should you choose to major in Finance

Persons working in the field of finance analyze and execute the financial aspects of managerial decisions.  They also serve outside decision makers like banks, government agencies, and stockholders by providing relevant financial information about businesses and individuals.
 
The opportunities with a finance degree span many areas including corporate and international financial management, personal financial planning and investment services.  Brokerage firms, commercial banks, and insurance companies also employ finance graduates.  Specific job titles include:

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the employment of financial analysts to grow six percent from 2018 to 2028, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Personal financial advisor jobs are expected to grow at a slightly faster pace (7%). Admission to College

In order to become a major, you must complete a change of major/major declaration form with your adviser.  There are no special application requirements.  However, finance majors must be admitted to the College of Business in order to take upper-level courses in business and accounting.  Please click here for Admission Requirements.
