Academic Coaching is designed to help students create positive habits and routines in relation to their academic goals. One-to-one coaching is a working partnership focusing on the process of learning where students and coaches talk about learning styles, study habits, and current difficulties or barriers to success. The goal is for students to learn new behaviors and practices resulting in habits leading to academic, professional, and personal success.
Each student at UAFS has the opportunity to meet with an Academic Coach to:
- Address and improve academic performance
- Utilize campus resources
- Discuss barriers to success
- Set achievement goals and improve study planning
- Think about ambitions and future success
Virtual Academic Coaching
We understand that students are busy and have multiple commitments vying for their time, therefore, virtual academic coaching support is being offered at UAFS. Face-to-face and virtual (online) coaching appointments are scheduled by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 479.788.7675. Virtual coaching hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday during the regular fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Students will access their virtual academic coaching session through Blackboard. On the Blackboard homepage, students can click on ASC Tutoring Services and go to the Main Menu and click on Virtual Coaching on the left-hand side of the screen. A specific link will be available for each student session.
Coaching appointments are free for all UAFS students. The first appointment will generally last about 30 minutes.
