The Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business  is designed for those students who wish to prepare themselves to engage in businesses that cross national boundaries and to function in the global business environment. The students will be equipped with the key managerial and professional expertise enabling them to successfully navigate the sphere of national/international business, government and not-for-profit-organizations.

What can I do with a degree in International Business?

International managers are involved in the process of planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling in a multicultural or cross-cultural environment. Their goal is to make effective and efficient use of the human and capital resources they have at their disposal.
International business provides a wide spectrum of opportunities. It can involve:
  • Staying in the US and working for a US company that does business abroad
  • Working for a US based company that sends you abroad for business travel
  • Working for a company that sends you abroad to work as an expatriate and live abroad

Special Application Procedures  

In order to become a major, you must complete a change of major/major declaration form with your advisor.  There are no special application requirements.  However, international business majors must be admitted to the College of Business in order to take upper-level courses. Internship Opportunities

Completing an international internship can give students the experience and confidence they need to pursue their chosen career after college. An international internship will strengthen students’ resumes, give them an edge in the competitive global job market, and afford them a valuable global perspective sought after by global firms. International Internship can also introduce students to different ways of working, giving them more flexibility and greater ease with diverse points of view as they enter the workforce.
 
Eligibility for Internships Abroad
 
Successful international interns must have a strong desire to learn more about their chosen field, as well as to immerse themselves in a new culture and environment. Applicants must be hard-working, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills are vital, must be self-motivated, prepare to adapt to an unfamiliar working conditions, and competent in computer skills.
